Tim Button

Tim Button is a Professor of Philosophy & Logic, and Head of the Philosophy Department, at UCL.

I work at the area where philosophy meets logic and mathematics. Here are some short words about some things I like. Right now, I am thinking about theoretical equivalence, types, and sets.

I recently published a serialized trilogy on Level Theory. This trilogy now has at least five parts. Before that, Sean Walsh and I published Philosophy and Model Theory (OUP, 2018). My first book was The Limits of Realism (OUP, 2013).

I have made some open education resources. I am an associate editor of MIND and a managing editor of the Journal of the Philosophy of Mathematics.

You can email me at .

This is my main site; it gives you access to free pre-prints (or better) of all my papers. Still, here’s my academic social media roll:

(I’ve stopped maintaining my academia & SocArXiv profiles; this is an easter egg.)
